They should thank us from bringing them out of the stone age.
And into the booze and petrol age?

Frankly, abos were better off when they had to work for a living
hunting and gathering - rather than getting drunk/high off centrelink
handouts and going around commiting crimes.

Maybe we should just herd them all onto reservations, like the Yanks did
with their indians, where they could live their traditional way and
'celebrate' their 'culture'. At least it would save the overburdened
taxpayers a shipload of money.

Well it's a bit late for that now. They have lost a lot of their
traditional ways. It's about 100 years + too late.

At least the Indians got paid for their land well in the majority of the
cases - ie Louisiana Purchase.

You got that VERY wrong. The Louisiana Purchase was the US government
buying Louisiana and some other land from France. The native Americans got
nothing from that deal.

The native Americans didn't get any money as part of the Louisiana
Purchase, but certainly got money as a consequence of it. The Americans
went around and purchased (for a second time -- this time from the native
Americans) most of the land bought from France. That wouldn't have
happened but for the prior "Louisiana Purchase" from Napoleon's France.

Well I phrased it incorrectly - the purchase took the lands from French
hands into US hands. The lands were occupied by Indians who were then paid
by the US to give up the lands and relocate. Sorry for attaching the title
Louisiana Purchase to it :( The fact remains that the Indians were paid
(fairly or not) for their lands. The aborigines were not. Well how could
they be - this land was unoccupied.

Not all native American in the territory covered by the Louisiana purchase
received payment for their land. Some was acquired by treaty. At best it
is accurate to describe it as some Indians received some payment for lost
land.

Yes and appropriate to introduce terra nullius in a thread where the Romans
get a mention.

Yes , as pointed out wendy , the yanks killed off their native peoples
very very similar to what was done in many parts of australia

I saw this pile of bison skulls and read the wiki article , it claimed
the bison were killed mainly to starve the native Americans to death ,
there were many such piles of skulls , take a look
Loading Image...

Its likely a pile of human skulls of similar size was the result

white christian capitalist people sure are evil

www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skull_Creek

sorry seems in order

Maybe that would be the best solution. Water the deserts and place
them there to fight out their battles.

But what about the poor sexually moleted kids?

Damn right! Apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine,
public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health,
what have the Romans ever done for us?

This was actually a parody of all the good things the jews did for the
palestineans which I found quite humorous. The people of Palestine
might have aaccess to aall these things but of course they lack the
most basic rights such as the ability to move freely about their own
lands.

None of that actually, but they obviously were the first politicians in
claiming the efforts of others as their own.

Nothing left after you deduct the efforts of the Carthagians,
Egyptians, Greek, etc.

Which was a major problem for the Romans, because their numbering system
didn't provide for zero.

So they invented aquaducts.

Nope, they was the carthagians. They certainly improved them.
